Summary
Amid the biggest Brooklyn snowstorm in living memory, an unexpected friendship grows between three people thrown together by circumstance. Richard Bowmaster, a lonely university professor in his sixties, slides on the ice and hits the car driven by Evelyn Ortega, a young undocumented migrant from Guatemala. What at first seems just a small inconvenience takes an unforeseen and far more serious turn when Evelyn arrives at Richard's house, desperately seeking help. At a loss, he asks his tenant Lucia Maraz, a sixty-two-year-old lecturer from Chile, for advice. And in the deep winter of their lives, an unlikely love affair begins to blossom between the two..
