Summary
Dr. Kent Abner - pediatrician, model husband and father, good neighbor - receives the package on a beautiful April morning. Inside is a cheap trinket: a golden egg that can be opened into two halves. When he pries it apart, highly toxic airborne fumes enter his body - and kill him. Detective Eve Dallas and her team are called to investigate, and realize they have a real mystery on their hands. Who would want to murder such a good man, and in such a terrible way? Then a second victim is discovered, and as spring arrives in New York City, Eve finds herself in a race against time to track down a serial killer with a motive she can't fathom and a weapon of choice which could wipe out half of Manhattan
