Summary
In 1962, nineteen-year-old Mimi Beardsley began her internship in the White House press office, working for the Kennedy administration. She was soon presented to the President himself - and their affair began. But young Mimi, in her naivety, was emotionally unprepared: both for the impact on her of the President's charisma and power - and the feelings of isolation that followed. Then, after the President's tragic death in Dallas, she grieved in private and tried to start her life anew, only to find that her past would cast a long shadow - and ultimately destroy her relationship with the man she married
