Summary

Summer, Fremantle, 1989: the USS Carl Vinson is in town. A PR disaster of nuclear proportions looms when a cache of M16s is smuggled from the aircraft carrier. To make matters worse, it appears there is a link between the arrival of the ship and the murder of two women in the port city. US Navy Master-at-Arms Steve Webb approaches his old friend Frank Swann for a little local assistance. But Frank, suffering from an undiagnosed and debilitating illness, has problems of his own.
