Summary
Eve and Dinah are everything to one another. Raised among the Children, a cult ruled by a mysterious, charismatic patriarch, all they know is the Isle of Altnaharra, off the coast of Scotland. Eve loves her free, savage life, while Dinah longs for something other. But the world is at war and as the solitude of Altnaharra is broken, Eve's faith and sanity fracture. During a great storm, as the old year dies, the locals discover a devastating scene. Eve and Dinah's accounts of that night contradict and intertwine, but only one woman can be telling the truth. Who is guilty, who innocent?
