Isla McKenzie is on long-term leave after a brutal mugging has left her in need of both physical and mental recovery. Her boyfriend Zach convinced her he should move in after the attack so he could look after her. So that she would feel safer. To curb her boredom, Isla spends her days lounging on her sofa watching Netflix. She's obsessed with true-crime documentaries and podcasts - revels in understanding the minds of criminals. Like the one who attacked her. She likes to play detective - figure out the 'who' or 'why' before the programmes conclude. And she's good. Nine times out of ten, she figures it all out. She can tell a guilty person when she sees one. Or so she thinks. In fact, Isla has been living with the perpetrator of her attack. Not once has she suspected Zach. After all, why would she? By the end of this story, police will remove a body from Number 5 Maple Drive. But will it be Isla or Zach who escape with their life?
