This is the first of four books by Rick Fenny. It is the first era of four eras of his life punctuated by four red kelpie dogs. This story is about his life growing up, firstly on a small farm and orchard in the Hills region on the outskirts of Perth, and later, with his dog Pip, in Albany Western Australia. Pip was to be the dog that set him off on his pathway, inevitably to become a vet. A profession that took him on a lifelong journey starting in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, then to the Pilbara where he established private practices in every major town and met the legendary Red Dog
