Summary
Vera is seventeen - the same age her parents were when, blindingly in love, they decided to have a baby. Now in their thirties and long since separated, "seventeen" is already a lifetime ago. So when Vera suffers a terrifying psychotic break, they scramble to try and comprehend what has happened to their wild-hearted, inimitable daughter. Vera's father Lucas takes her to Lithuania, his grandmother's homeland, for the summer. Here, in the city of Vilnius, Lucas hopes to save Vera from the sorrow of her diagnosis.
